We started out with wildlife reference photos which now encompass over 280 different sets of photos. These are up-close detailed shots of live birds of prey, freshwater fish, mammals, gamebirds, waterbirds, and songbirds. The color photographs are 4" x 6" in size and done in natural sunlight to provide accurate colors for painting. Each bird set includes 10 major reference measurements taken from the live specimen to help you in the accuracy of your carving or art. Many world class carvers, artists, and taxidermists use our product and win in competition because of our product. If you use good reference, then you will be assured of a much more pleasing, accurate creation, no matter what media.

In 1998, we expanded upon our business to open an educational facility like no other, where we have week long seminars with world class teachers from May to October. Nature describes our location best. Krausman's Woodcarving Studio is located on 23 acres with our own 5 acre lake surrounded by many acres of state land. waterfalls, birds and animals of all kinds, and NATURE, NATURE, NATURE.

Our studio is set up for powercarving, traditional carving with vises and gouges, all types of painting, including airbrushing and other types of media. We have a beautiful spacious facility with lots of natural sunlight, florescent lights and incandescent light. Work stations are equipped with their own foredom hanger, dust collection system, paper towels, water containers, and high intensity light for each of our student's use while here.

   With each seminar we have the necessary supplies available here at the studio for you to purchase. Seminars include breakfast, lunch, and snacks to satisfy most anyone's taste palette. Students can stay 7 miles down the road at the Model Towne Inn which is very reasonably priced. You can fly into Sawyer International Airport and we will pick you up. No need to rent a car. We are at your service!

   Our goal is to give you a total up north experience you will really enjoy. We really want to offer you all our help in creating your best works yet.
